Privacy & Health Information
Summit Psychology is a healthcare practice and may collect personal information when you submit a contact form, request a consultation, schedule an appointment, or communicate with the practice.
This may include your name, contact information, location, insurance-related information, scheduling details, and limited information about what you are seeking support for. When you become a client, information related to your care is treated as protected health information and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA.
Summit may use and disclose information for purposes such as treatment, payment, healthcare operations, scheduling, communication, legal compliance, safety concerns, and other uses permitted or required by law. Summit does not sell client health information.
Confidentiality
Therapy is confidential, with legal and ethical limits. Information may need to be disclosed in situations involving safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, court orders, legal requirements, or other circumstances required by law or professional ethics. Specific confidentiality terms are reviewed during the intake and informed consent process.
Telehealth & PSYPACT
Summit provides virtual therapy to eligible clients located in PSYPACT-participating states. PSYPACT allows authorized licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology across participating states. Eligibility depends on where the client is physically located at the time of service and applicable state requirements. Summit confirms PSYPACT eligibility before beginning care. Clients are responsible for providing an accurate location for each telehealth session.
Website Communication
Submitting a contact form or sending an email does not create a therapist-client relationship. Please do not use this website for emergencies or urgent mental health concerns. If you are in crisis or at immediate risk, call 911, go to the nearest emergency room, or contact a local crisis service.
While Summit takes reasonable steps to protect website communications, email and online forms may not be fully secure. Please avoid including highly sensitive clinical information in general website inquiries.
Client Rights
Clients have rights related to their health information, which may include the right to access records, request corrections, request restrictions, request confidential communications, receive an accounting of certain disclosures, and file a privacy complaint.
